The Underdog Comes Out on Top

I love Stephani Hecht. She's one of my favorite authors and all her books are great. This one is another one to add to my list of favorites.
Clark is a really great character. He has a sad beginning but he pulls through. You automatically start rooting for Clark, to come out on top after his ordeal. I loved his strength of determination to stand back on his own two feet. His sense of humor comes out even under such dire circumstances. I really liked Clark.
The Alpha, Bishop, is an alpha who rules with his heart. I instantly grew to like Bishop and could immediately tell that he's a good alpha. He also takes care of his brothers who we are introduced to. From our introduction we can tell they are a real handful. Poor Bishop.
The ending was action packed and great. I loved it. I'm not going to say any more about it cause I don't want to ruin it for anyone. But it was awesome.
I highly recommend this story. If you like wolf shifter stories with an alpha who is full of heart and love and who finds his mate then you will love this one.

Wonderful rescued Omega wolf finding his Alpha...!!

- - - "Dire Wolves: Fearsome, heavier built than the gray wolf, large canine teeth that crush bone, carnivorous..." - - - Dire Wolf Clark is gay, and imprisoned for that, including being tortured, starved, and abused by his brother - his pack - including the Alpha. Clark's cousin Lillian can't let him suffer anymore, and escapes with him to a neighboring pack, where Alpha Bishop takes them in, claims them as members of his pack, protecting them. Bishop is an awesome Dire Wolf leader, big, strong and powerful and his pack is amazing. He never allows torture, abuse for ANY pack member, and welcomes gay wolves, because many pack members are, as is the Alpha. Bishop knows Clark is his mate, and when Clark heals, he realizes it also, but is cautious. Clark's Dire Wolf "form" is a beautiful pure white, lovely creature. Patience is the key for Bishop to win Clark's feelings. The evil ex-pack comes to get Clark and Lillian back, but Bishop won't allow it, and the battle begins. Great twist with Clark facing his brother.
Well written, terrific story of pack differences and a Christmas love story, too!
Highly recommend for lovers of the wolves tales ! E N J O Y !!!

Could have been a great short story but the price should have been maybe 99 cents not $3.99 sorry not worth $3.99 and have asked for a refund. The biggest problem it seems the writer need money thru the short story together and did not reread her work. You are left with more questions and no way to find the answers. this could have been a great read if she had thought it out and maybe had a future series of books on Dire Wolves, Hope she tries again.
